I like hoodie

I'm thankful for hoodies. I don't think that I would be able to get through winter without them. There are weeks in January and February where I just wear a different hoodie every day of the week because I don't want to be cold. I get cold very easily, so during the winter I like to wear warm clothes so I don't freeze to death.

One of the biggest advantages of wearing a hoodie is that I can keep my head warm without having to wear a hat. Whenever I try wearing a hat, I end up getting the worlds worst hat head. My hair sticks up all over the place, lies completely flat, or some combination of the two. Hoodies solve this problem spectacularly. They fit over my head and keep it warm without pushing my hair flat or holding it at odd angles, so I when I enter a building and put my hood down I don't look like a clown (or look less like a clown ig). Hats are also a hassle to cary around all the time. I can't even keep track of my glasses for more than a few minutes without losing them, so the idea of trying to hold on to a hat for an extended period of time is frankly ridiculous. If I'm walking outside and my head gets cold, I have my hood right there to keep me warm.

I have so many hoodies. Thanks to the fact that I'm an extremely talented and successful runner, I've managed to procure a multitude of state hoodies for track and cross country. To be more accurate, I've gotten carried to state by my team enough times that I have like 5 different state hoodies that I can rotate using. With those, plus my hoodies that aren't from running, I have enough hoodies to last a full 7 day week. Having several hoodies is important for me because I don't have the confidence or swagger to pull of wearing the same hoodie every day. It takes a special kind of person to be able to wear the same sweater every day and have it work (I'm talking about Sparsh. If you're reading this, ILY Sparsh <3).

My favorite hoodie is a grey state hoodie from cross country state my Sophomore year. This was the second state I got during high school. Unlike my first state hoodie from high school which I had gotten during the previous track season, I don't have a memory of tripping and almost breaking my ankle during the race associated with it. Wearing it brings back memories of one of the two good races that I've had in my cross country career which is fun. It goes well-ish with most of the pants I own which is nice and it's also very warm and soft.

  1. I personally cannot get over how Sparsh wears the same hoodie every day. Like, it's hard to describe, but something about it is just so endearing. Somehow his personality exactly fits that hoodie, and the way he wears it all the time really expresses it. It almost makes me want to be wearing that hoodie, but not in a weird way. Just seeing Sparsh wear it makes me feel warm and safe inside. I personally haven't had much experience with hoodies, but the good qualities you give them are very similar to the feelings I have whenever I see Sparsh wear his.

  2. I agree somewhat. Hoodies are great and keep me so warm during the winter. I have to say that I prefer wearing crewnecks because I find the hood part in hoodies annoying. The hood makes wearing larger coats uncomfortable and its even more awkward when you have long hair.

  3. I will wear hoodies all year round. I have also collected a multitude of hoodies (and crewnecks, but I prefer hoodies because of the pocket pouch) through cross country (middle school and high school adds up to a lot of years of hoodies) and also other reasons. I love hoodies so much and I am currently contemplating buying another even though I must have 10+ at home. They're truly the clothing for any time.

  4. As Uni High's ultimate hoodie authority, I must disagree with your post. First of all, why you gotta call it a sweater :( With that out of the way, I believe the hoodie should define your style of fashion, not the other way around. When you start debating whether your hoodie matches with this pair of pants or with that hairstyle, you lose the confidence and swagger necessary to pull off the hoodie in the first place. As the superior article of clothing, the hoodie fits all styles and doesn't discriminate between people. Of course, there will always be those who pull it off better *ahem*, but that is due to their ungodly levels of experience and the "streaks" they maintain with their hoodie. I could've (and should've) delved into this concept for one of my blog posts, but it looks like you got the last word.

  5. Hoodies are incredible, I always get excited when fall comes around because it becomes okay to wear sleeves again. Its a little sad because 95% of what I wear in the colder months are hoodies and while I would like some variety, no article of clothing comes close to challenging the hoodie as the ultimate cold weather choice.
